Ranked as the "9th Happiest Seaside Town in America" by Coastal Living in 2012, Jupiter is a fabulous oceanside community that is a perfect place to live or spend a well-earned vacation.

Jupiter is located in Palm Beach County and measures 21.1 total square miles. It is the northernmost threshold of South Florida’s tropical climate, and boasts an Equatorial rainforest climate.

Attractions and activities in Jupiter include local beaches, the Jupiter Lighthouse, state parks, the Dubois Pioneer Home, the Roger Dean Stadium, the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, fishing, golfing, and surfing. The Marine Life Center is also nearby in Juno Beach, Florida.

Beaches

The Gulf Stream flows nearest the US shores along Jupiter's 3.4 miles of beaches.

Jupiter has two large beaches that are perfect if you want to have an active afternoon of swimming, shelling, snorkeling beach volleyball or even bocce ball. There are also several smaller beaches that are ideal for families with small children, having picnics, and bird-watching. Juno Beach Park has daily designated surfing areas and hosts the Ocean Rescue Headquarters (561) 694-7480.

Jupiter is home to one of the few remaining dog-friendly beaches in the state of Florida. Well-behaved dogs and their conscientious owners are welcome on the 2.5-mile beach that stretches from North of the Juno Beach lifeguarded area to South of the Carlin Park lifeguarded area.

DuBois Park has one of the most unique beaches in Palm Beach County, as home to the DuBois Pioneer Home and an Indian mound that is a historical and archeological treasure. Park amenities include 1,200 feet of beach front, a guarded 100 feet swimming lagoon, picnic areas with grills, playground, snorkeling lagoon, boat ramp, boat slips, canoeing and kayaking access, fishing, restroom facilities and outdoor showers.

Riverwalk

While you are in Jupiter, treat yourself to a leisurely walk along the new Riverwalk. This enchanting pathway extends 2.5 miles along the Intracoastal Waterway and Jupiter Inlet, taking you through many upland communities, environmentally sensitive lands, marinas, and waterfront parks.

You can traverse the Riverwalk either on foot or by bike. Either way you choose to go, expect to see your fair share of marine and upland wildlife, including manatees, ospreys, and American bald eagles. Points of interest along the way include Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, Lagoon Bridge, The Riverwalk Entertainment District, and the Burt Reynolds & Friends Museum.

Town of Jupiter Gallery of Art

If you are looking for an indoor activity while in Jupiter, stop by the Gallery of Art located inside the Jupiter Community Center.

The art gallery highlights the artwork of local and regional talent, including all media of fine arts, crafts, sculpture, and photography. All exhibitions and openings are free and open to the public, and children are welcome.

Camping

For campers who love an impressive outdoor experience, Jonathan Dickinson State Park offers primitive and equestrian camping, in addition to eco-adventures that include hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, bicycling, a boat ramp and boat tours, fishing, swimming, wildlife viewing and tours. The park is located in nearby Hobe Sound, Florida, and is just a short drive from Jupiter.

And for campers who desire more of a resort feel in a pet-friendly gated community, West Jupiter Camping Resort is a great option, featuring a heated pool, showers, laundry area, planned activates and entertainment, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and a convenience store.

Accommodations

Jupiter has long been the destination of choice for many travelers. Since the town has its fair share of out-of-town visitors, it has several hotels and resorts from which to choose, in addition to vacation rentals.

Popular options include the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place, Jupiter Waterfront Inn, Comfort Inn & Suites, and Jupiter Beach Resort.

Dining

With well over 100 dining options, Jupiter has diverse eateries for every palate. And of course, there are some excellent restaurants featuring seafood, as well as restaurants with a wide variety of ethnic dishes and standard American fare.

Popular dining options in Jupiter include the Food Shack, Little Moir's Leftovers, Dune Dog Café, and Jetty's. There are also establishments with nationally known names, such as Tommy Bahama Restaurant and Bar, and Chili's Grill & Bar.
