Beach Cities and Towns

Amelia Island is a 13-mile-long paradise that is one of Florida's most highly rated beach community. 2013 awards for Amelia Island include TripAdvisors Top 10 USA Islands, Condé Nast Traveler's Reader's Choice Awards Top 25 Islands in the World, and Travel + Leisure America's Favorite Towns.

Anna Maria Island was voted #4 in TripAdvisor.com's Top 10 USA Islands for 2013. The island is composed of three towns that work together to create one of Florida's most highly rated beach communities.

Apalachicola is the principal beach community of Apalachicola Bay, also known as the Forgotten Coast. Neighboring natural attractions include St. George Island, Cape St. George Island, St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, East Bay, and Apalachicola National Forest. St. Joseph Peninsula State Park was ranked the #1 U.S. Beach in 2002 by Dr. Beach. And St. George Island State Park made Dr. Beach's list again, ranked the #3 U.S. Beach for 2014.

Atlantic Beach was rated as one of the Top 10 Beaches for 2013 by the Travel Channel with its sugary sand, bright sunshine, and azure blue water.

Captiva Island, rated as one of the Top 10 Beaches for 2013 by the Travel Channel, and selected as one of the 10 Best Places for Second Homes in 2010 by The Wall Street Journal.

Clearwater Beach was voted the #1 Beach Town for 2013 in a USA reader survey.

Cocoa Beach was voted among the top 10 beaches in Florida for 2013 in a USA reader survey.

Delray Beach tops the list of top 10 Florida Beaches for 2013 by Travel Channel, and was named the "Most Fun Small Town in America" in 2012 by Rand McNally and USA Today.

Daytona Beach is known as the "World’s Most Famous Beach." Ever since adopting its nickname in 1927, Daytona Beach continues to be world famous as a beach community for vacationers, sports and cultural enthusiasts, and residents who love the beach lifestyle.

Destin is ranked the #1 Florida Beach in U.S. News and World Report for 2014, with more than 80% of the Emerald Coast's 4.5 million annual guest visiting each year.

Flagler Beach was a finalist in Budget Travel Magazine's 2013 Coolest Small Town Contest, and chosen by Where to Retire magazine as one of the top retirement destinations in Florida.

Fort Lauderdale was rated #7 among the "Top 10 Small American Cities of the Future" for 2013 by fDi Magazine, and one of the Top 100 Best Places to Live by Livability.com.

Fort Myers Beach is a vibrant beach community with a laid-back atmosphere deeply rooted in a historical heritage.

Hollywood is home to the top seaside boardwalk in Florida, the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, according to a 2013 poll by USA Today with help from Dr. Beach. The boardwalk was also ranked as one of the 2013 Great Places in America for Public Space by the American Planning Association, and one of the Top Boardwalks in America by Travel and Leisure.

Jacksonville Beach is one of the most visited beaches in Florida, with over 9 million visitors each year.

Key Biscayne is a secluded island village across the bay from Miami that's known as "The Island Paradise." This beach community includes Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, which was ranked #7 in 2013 and #8 in 2012 among USA beaches by Dr. Beach.

Panama City Beach was voted #20 in TripAdvisor.com's Top 25 United States Beaches.

Pensacola Beach was ranked as a Top 10 Florida Beach in a USA Reader Survey and a Top 25 USA Beach by TripAdvisor for 2013, and it shares the #3 USA Beach and #18 World Beach ranking from TripAdvisor with neighboring communities in the Gulf Islands National Seashore Florida District.

Sanibel Island is a barrier island on the Gulf Coast rated the #6 Best US Island for 2013 by TripAdvisor, and one of the Top 10 Beaches for 2013 by the Travel Channel. The Wall Street Journal also selected Sanibel as one of the 10 Best Places for Second Homes in 2010.

Siesta Key was voted the #2 USA Beach and the #16 World Beach in TripAdvisor's Traveler’s Choice for 2013. This beautiful barrier island in on the Gulf of Mexico, located on the west-central coast of Florida across from Sarasota.

South Walton is a 26-mile stretch of sugary-white beaches and turquoise Gulf waters, integrating 16 distinct beach communities, each with its own heritage tradition and charm. Seaside is one of South Walton's communities, and was voted the #1 Florida Beach for Families by Travel + Leisure 2013 readers, and voted among the Top 10 Beaches in Florida for 2013 in a USA reader survey.

St. Pete Beach was voted 2012's #1 USA beach and #5 world beach in TripAdvisor.com Travelers' Choice ratings. Then in 2013, the historic beach community of Pass-a-Grille was voted #15 among USA beaches and rated the #2 St. Pete Beach attraction by TripAdvisor.com for 2013.

Vero Beach was ranked as Florida's "Friendliest Small Town" in 2011 by Florida Monthly Magazine, and ranked as having the "Best Nature Center" and "Best Garden" in Florida.
